I’ve been working in private practice since 2010 and in the thousands of stories I have sat with, one of the most resounding themes is the wisdom of the human spirit, the wisdom that calls our attention to the truth that: there must be more than this. There is more. Whether it be chronic stress, unbearable loneliness, relational conflict, the unresolved wounds of the past or mental health challenges that impact your quality of life, someone who knows the landscape of your suffering, and the way forward can be invaluable.

The integration of clinical expertise and authenticity that I bring serve to support and guide the journey out of suffering and into a fullness of self.

I received my M.A. in Counselling Psychology from UBC and have continued steadily in additional training informed by research and neuroscience, to fine tune my capacity to quickly understand the unique barriers or challenges for each individual, and apply pertinent interventions for repair. In addition, I feel a very personal sense of calling in my life to do this work, I am deeply passionate about transformation and have committed my time, heart and soul to this calling.

I have extensive training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP level 1, 2 and 3), AEDP for Couples (immersion & essential skills), somatic-relational training for treating complex trauma and dissociation (Bringing the Body into Practice), Observed Experiential Integration (OEI, levels 1 and 2), and specialized training for running process-experiential groups for civilian and military populations. My thesis research focused on men’s experience of couples counselling. The process of interviewing research participants has offered me an informed insight into the unique challenges men face in attending couples counselling, and the interventions that assist them in benefitting from the clinical work.

I have worked extensively with individuals, couples and families in my private practice in addition to dozens of therapeutic groups offered to civilians, and I have specialized training in working with military and first responder populations. I have offered numerous trainings to practicing therapists and deeply enjoy working as a clinical supervisor with new and emerging clinicians. I am also a clinician and trainer with the Veterans Transition Network and have delivered programs for veterans transitioning out of the military across Canada.

Underneath most suffering is the unbearable pain of having been alone with it for too long, I’d be honoured to step in and undo the aloneness.
