Mariah Kingston

M.A. RCC

Registered Clinical Counsellor

Fort Langley

My name is Mariah (she/her), and I am a clinical fellow at Shoreline Counselling. I recently completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University. I have been working in the mental health field for 10 years in a variety of capacities such as mental health outreach, victim services, youth work and support work for neurodivergent children.

My therapeutic approach is person-centred and emotion-focused. My hope is that we work collaboratively, honouring you as the unique individual that you are. I aim to create a safe and inclusive environment where you can be your authentic self, and all parts of you are welcomed and affirmed. Through sessions, it is my aim that we can foster self-compassion, explore our sense of self and begin releasing the burden of self-judgement. I believe through the acknowledgement of our emotions, we can re-connect with our own inner knowing and intuition.

As a first responder’s spouse, I am particularly interested in working with first responders and their families. I have completed training for working with first responders, including Inter-Provincial Occupational Awareness Training as well as Introduction to Trauma Exposed Professionals through Warrior Health.

I respectfully acknowledge the land on which I live and work is the traditional territory and unceded land of the Kwantlen, Katzie, the Stó:lō Nations.
