Registered Clinical Counsellor

Fort Langley

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology followed by my master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University and I continue my education and training as a lifelong learner. Before becoming a counsellor, my volunteer and work experience at the crisis center, in the homeless community, as a corporate sales trainer, and raising three children, I saw first-hand the positive impact a guiding, supportive, empathic voice can be in others’ lives. The transformations I witnessed through these experiences are what motivated me to pursue my dream of becoming a counsellor.

Working with adults, children, families, and groups for a non-profit organization in the community, I am trained in Trauma-Informed practice, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Person-Centered, CBT, Somatic and Attachment Theory. Through my studies I completed extensive research on children with learning disabilities and their families.

I understand the difficulties parents and children can experience as they navigate their way through the obstacles and concerns after diagnosis, and I provide guidance, coping skills, support and hope to these families. Along with families, couples and children, I work closely with individual adults with mental and emotional health difficulties such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress.

My therapeutic approach is to cultivate a safe, trusting, and collaborative space for my clients to feel comfortable exploring their emotions, barriers, and life challenges. I aim to provide a strong therapeutic alliance of genuineness, non-judgment, and empathy in order to create a firm foundation from which my clients can begin their journey as I walk alongside them in their growth and healing.
