It is a privilege when someone shares their happiness and their troubles. In our North American culture where emphasis is placed on independence and self-efficacy, it can feel difficult to reach out for help when something in life feels too overwhelming to bear alone. I am humbled to have the opportunity in supporting those who find themselves here.

I completed my Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology and Masters of Counselling Psychology with a focus in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of British Columbia. From a young age I was intrigued by the layers of influences and motivations that inform our behaviour and the emotional underpinning that comes with it. This led me to teach swimming and dancing lessons to students of all ages, facilitating sexual education workshops with Vancouver Coastal Health, volunteering with the Vancouver Crisis Centre hotline, and starting a career in counselling.

My counselling philosophy places emphasis on the client’s autonomy, believing that they have the strength to move through the obstacles they face – they just need some support along the way. While my theoretical foundations start from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, I adjust and tailor my approach depending on what is helpful for the client through continuing dialogue.

I look forward to stepping into your world and walking with you on your journey.
